About Us
ANTHEM has been established since June 2007 and has evolved from one of the top musical societies in the country, Dun Laoghaire Musical and Dramatic Society (DMDS). The quality of this multi-award winning group speaks for itself with six nominations in 2008 alone at the Association of Irish Musical (AIMS) Awards 2008 for Hot Mikado and wins in both the Best Choreography and Best Visuals departments. There was also a double win for DMDS for the third consecutive year at the New Ross Choral Festival 2008 for Best Choral Performance and Best Cameo Performance.
While the membership of DMDS is upwards of sixty members, for many years DMDS have also performed with smaller groups of its members as a multi-part harmony vocal group, with a repertoire spanning all genres and styles of music, including Gospel, Blues, Pop, Jazz, Choral, Traditional, Religious, Comedy, as well as the best from stage and screen.
ANTHEM now draws on the pool of talent and experience of its members in solo and group singing, and in stage performance, to offer the highest quality of performance-based entertainment.
